No shuffle

I bought the transmitter thinking I could just play my music directly through the radio but I have to use the app. App does not allow you to shuffle songs though and you have to create a playlist through the app rather than being able to use your playlists in iTunes. Quite frustrating but otherwise it is working well with my iPhone4.
